Hi Geopelia
do you get or did get a nice clear Prime/Maori TV channel
meaning not a snow picture lots of small dots on the screen.
If it was a good picture on those channels just get a LG or Samsung LCD
TV.
For simple recoding get a DishTV T1050 is very easy to use, well
supported and shop around for a good price I paid some $298 for mine on
special at JB HiFi at the time but Noel Leemings matched the price.
Comes with a Built in 500Mb Hard Drive and is a modern unit June 2011.
Unless you wish to play around with a Tivo at some $199 sale, but they
are large and old 2006 vintage and they require a net connection WiFi is
supported or pluged into a Lan port to get the Freeview guide that is
needed for simple recoding, only sold by Bond & Bond/Noel Leemings.
If you dont get a nice clear picture on these channels you will need a
Satellite Dish and a Set top box as well.
NZ TV's sold here have no Satellite option so you will need a STB as
well as a TV and Dish, Note you can get a cheaper HD TV as you do not
get Full HD or even HD as the Satellite system is just SD, so a basic
HD TV will work well.
Only TV1/2 Terrestrial have HD and TV3 has full HD all the other
channels are SD.
