IE 9 Javascript works after refresh

Hello all.

I have some JS that works great in IE6,7 & 8 but wont work in IE 9
until I do a refresh (F5). Why would this be so? I have set this
element: <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
