Hi
I am trying to install MIME::Base64 and MIME::QuotedPrint using CPAN on
Suse 9.1. Suse comes with Perl v5.8.3 already installed.

The error message I receive is as follows:

MOOSE:/usr/local/cpanSGH # perl -MCPAN -e "install 'MIME::Base64'"
CPAN: Storable loaded ok
Going to read /usr/local/cpanSGH/Metadata

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I just looked to see if there
were any environment variables in 'profile'. No referens to Perl
anywhere. Hmm, seems a bit strange. How can I check the Perl variable?

Did you leave out a line there? I don't see an error message.

Yeah, what's the problem? It stops at this point?

I do things slightly differently. I type cpan and then at the cpan
prompt, I install the module. The syntax is printed by cpan when it
starts.

I mention this because the first time I ran it, I had to answer a bunch of
questions.

Also, I sometimes run into trouble because I forget to su before I run
cpan. If you run as yourself, it cannot do the install step of the
installation.

HTH,

-Alan
