ShowModalDialog and OnLoad Event?

I have a modal dialog whose onLoad event is randomly executed.
Sometimes the event is run and sometimes the browser ignores the
event. This is an intranet application and everybody will be using IE
6.0. Has anybody else experienced this and do you have a workaround
for the problem?
