i have a web page with alot of checking on user input (if value is
numeric,empty...)and i used to have an alert after each field was
changed, which was of course quite annoying. So instead i now have a
message area(div) where i display all the messages. The problem is if
the user is not looking they won't know that there is a new message. Is
there a way to emmit a beep with javascript??i'm trying to avoid
submitting sound files but if that's my only choice.....

using java is not an option for me
