What keyboard distribution you have?

Euro keybs (spanish, french and other from oriental europe) requires
a .inputrc file that maps AltGr keys with the correct escape code.

Download this file:

http://rubyinstaller.rubyforge.org/s...s/inputrc.euro

And rename it to .inputrc

Place it where you have HOME defined, and IRB should start accepting
it.
