"The moment you see the j at the end of any Synology NAS you know that you are dealing with the most entry-level unit of that particular line so I can’t say I expected much from the DiskStation DS212j. However after many hours of testing I was quite satisfied with its performance especially since with the latest version of the DSM 3.2 testing went smoothly without any issues. True the hardware specifications of the DS212j may not be the best out there (not even close) and the lack of SATA III drive support may disappoint some people but at the end of the day the DS212j is a very good and quiet NAS unit for light to medium use."
