Webservice not working in Windows server 2003, .NET 1.1

I have .NET 1.1 (VS .NET 2003) installed on machine running with Windows
server 2000.ASp.NET web application works pretty well.But when I try to test
a webservice it complians with HTTP 500 error.I tried iisreset aspnet_iisreg
but nothing helped me.Any help in this regard is highly appreciated.
