Wireless Networking - Network Printer

Default Network Printer

I have a D-Link wireless router, main PC (XP-Pro) wired directly to router &
2nd desktop (XP-Home) on a wireless connection. No problems using internet
on both PCs, but I cannot print from the 2nd desktop to the printer
connected to the main PC.

On the main PC, I've set the printer to "shared" (with a hand beneath it).
On the 2nd PC, I tried to add a network printer. When I select "Browse for
Printer", I can see the main PC name under the Microsoft Windows Network /
Workgroup. But when I type in the printer's name (exactly as I named it on
the main PC), it says:-

"Windows cannot connect to the printer. Either the printer name was typed
incorrectly, or the specified printer has lost its connection to the
server."

The firewalls on both PCs are off. Please help!

I'm not sure I totally understand but...

Why do you need to type in the printer name at all? When you browse,
double click the main pc and you should see the shared printer under
it. Select that and click ok- or whatever it is.

If you do need to type it in, it should be
"\\main-pc-name\printer-name". Typing only the printer name wouldn't
work (I think).

When I double-click the main PC, the shared printer doesn't appear, even
though I've set it to 'shared' in the main PC.
