Default Wireless repair error message

My wireless system on my desk top PC, a Belkin Router and wi-fi thinghy work
fine except that on the odd occassion when I start the PC it fails to
automatically connect.

I use the repair function which invariably connects everything. However I
always get the error message that the repair could not be completed as the
"DNS cache could not be cleared" and am advised to contact the administrator,
ie me.
The wireless system seems to work okay then but I wonder if it wouold work
better if it cleared the DNS cache.

I am using XP Home with SP2, a 54g router and USB wireless network connector.

Anyone have a solution please?
