Trying to validate a use edit of a datagrid cell.

Have tried creating a temp textbox, and casting the edited cell to temp, and
then setting the validation control to the temp textbox. doesnt seem to
work, always tests TRUE regardless of the crap I type in

what is the best way to use the validation controls with a datagrid edit?
