I have a new HP/Compaq laptop, Window XP Home 5.1.2600
Nothing modified to it.
It has pre-installed wireless Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN Network Card BCM43xx
HP Wireless Assistant is turned on and enabled
The Wireless Connection icon assistant does not show up in the Network
Connections Panel
System Properties>Device Manager>Network adaptors>Broadcom 802.11b/g WLAN
Properties>Device Status: “This device is working properly” (clicking
troubleshoot, does not change anything)
I tried re-installing network card driver from OEM CD, & also updated by
downloading & installing most recent driver from HP site, for the network
card. (HP’s tech support suggestion)
I still cannot get the wireless connection icon to appear in the Network
Connections panel of Windows.
I was simply looking for hopefully, some Windows troubleshooting tips, if
anyone has them.
Many thanks.
