I am using WinXP with SP2 and NetGear USB Adapter WG111T. When I orignally
loaded USB driver, version 1.0.1.1007. I thought I had a driver conflict
because I got a "DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL" error and the system went to
Microsoft Blue with an error dump referencing the WG11TND5.SYS driver. I
uninstalled the driver and tried to load an earlier version 1.0.1.1006. I
removed all copies of the x.1007 version by using the "Uninstall" button then
seaching and deleting the .sys file(s) in all the normal haunts: windows
driver, windows sysbckup, etc.. if it still existed. I then installed the
x.1006 version and confirmed it was installed by searching for all instances
of it verifying the version as x.1006. But when I go into the Device Manager
and look into the properties/Driver screen I see the wrong date and version
x.1007, but when I click on the "Driver Details..." bottom, and click on the
file name, I see the file version is x.1006. What causes this and how do I
remove and install the driver so that it displays the correct version x.1006?
