WPS DDK Updates or alternative?

I need to be able to write something like the Wireless Zero config with
my own GUI. Wireless zero is great, so I'd ideally like to hook in as
closely as I could to the MS APIs in use. The closest thing I'm aware
of is the WPS DDK, which was released in preview form a little over a
year ago, and it was clearly not a finished product at that time. It's
also not *quite* what I need, as it's aimed mainly at hotspot
providers, giving me only CreateProfile() and not a lot of control or
feedback.

So after a year is there any info from MS about an update? Or is there
any MS or open source alternative that I've yet to stumble into?

Heck, let's shoot the moon here, anybody know any vendors of PCMCIA
802.11B/G cards that provide a private API or even command-line tools?
