Software is my weakness, too. I'm a freeware junky and I'm always
trying out new things, usually 3 or 4 similar programs to see which I
prefer. But I maintain my strict AV scanning policies - Download from
a reputable site, Have your shields up, Scan on demand every download -
even pics - with multiple scanners. Followed up with regular full
system scans. Keeps my computer in good shape - still doesn't get rid
of all my excess software, though.
