Just FYI, that viewsonic is a particularly cruddy model IMO, I would be
looking at nursing it along for as long as possible then replacing
rather than repairing.

Agreed, the first one she had was replaced within a few weeks (faulty).
This one is just 3 1/2 years old. The lady owner is elderly and on a fixed
income so is looking for the cheapest option. The cheapest new one (20') is
around the $200 mark so if she could get the old one repaired at a
reasonable price she would prefer that. However, I've suggested that she
lives with the old one until it completely claps out, then purchase new.

Yes but its better than No monitor.

Are you the John J that I used to know, had a Paradise acc.?

If so do you have the same Email addy?


From what I can find out its just a Cap problem, simple to fix.

Yes I do have full details of the Viewsonic service agent in the lower
north island, based in Wellington but generally they don't come cheep.


Plus I do know some people do not fit the correct Low ESR caps.

Yes but you will need the Original packing to ship the monitor safely,
in my case it does not need that and does not cost a thing.

I'll contact you(by phone)after I've spoken to the lady with the faulty
monitor.
