Hello everyone im new on here,

i have recently made a film with some friends as part of my university work only thing is, is that the video file is AVI and when i write it to a DVD-R disc it doesnt play in any DVD players but plays in PC's and Laptops only this is very frustrating, at the moment i am using AVS Video convertor 6 and wondering what would be the best Video file type to convert it too? ive also heard that i need to format the disc before putting the Video on to disc, is this true?

At the moment im using DivX Play 6 to write the Video to the disc, as ive had major problems with DivX Play 8,
