PCIE advice

Hey all I have a kind of strange question. I would like a new PCIE sound
card but I can't get one because the graphics card takes up too much room so
that it's impossible to fit it there. So, I was wondering if there were a
device to perhaps give me more PCIE slots or something (I'm a bit of a n00b
to all this). I searched around a bit and found an extender but all that
seemed to do was give me a long cable from the slot, but then the sound card
would just 'hang' there?

I hope I've explained myself enough ... and I may just have to get a good
old PCI sound card?

Thanks all

Indeed. The sound card in my studio is PCI and I've never had any issues.

What is your objective in a PCIe over a PCI card? And what card are you
looking at? Certainly it doesn't have to be a 16 lane card like a video
card right?
