Default Very Slow Wireless Connection

My wireless router is connected to a computer running Win 98. The
connecti0on speed is good. The other 2 computers are using Win XP SP 2. One
computer has a USB wireless adapter and the signal is excellent and the
connection speed is very good. The other computer has a PCI wireless card
and the signal is excellent also but it takes about 10 min to connect to the
internet and to navigate to other links. This computer has a network adapter
on the motherboard that I disabled. I have an active antivirus program and I
find no viruses and my Ad-Aware finds no spyware. Can you help?
