I have a solution which in Configuration Manager I have
Debug, Test, Release configured for a website.

When I create a webdeployment project, the only configuration that gets
created is Debug and Release.

How do I get a Test configuration to display in the WebDeployment Project
property page?

Hi Chuck,

This issue cannot be reproduced. Here are my test steps:

1. Open the Configuration Manager in VS2008.
2. Add a new configuration named 'Test'.
3. Copy settings from 'Debug'.
4. Make sure the CheckBox "Create new project configurations" as true.
5. Close and save.
6. Open the project in VS2010.
7. Convert the project following the wizard.
8. Right click the web.config and click option 'Add Config Transforms'.
9. There are three configs below including the web.Test.config file.

Please follow my steps or give more information about your actions.

MSDN Managed Newsgroup support offering is for non-urgent issues where an
initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support Engineer within
2 business day is acceptable. Please note that each follow up response may
take approximately 2 business days as the support professional working with
you may need further investigation to reach the most efficient resolution.
The offering is not appropriate for situations that require urgent,
real-time or phone-based interactions. Issues of this nature are best
handled working with a dedicated Microsoft Support Engineer by contacting

My coworker could get the problem to repeat on there machines.
I believe the work around is to close the solution after creating the test
configuration.
