My brothers computer seems to have picked up a bug of some sort and i
keep receiving e-mails from him but the only text is a web address
which sell pills such as viagra. I've had three of these and the web
addresses are all different. Does anyone know what causes this please
and how to get rid of it?

Your description doesn't indicate or assure that you know how this
particular email/spam is sourced.

Your description doesn't indicate whether you have any useful strategy
for filtering spam.

Spam is caused by spam-generating systems. You get rid of it by
filtering it. The best way to filter it depends on how you are
configured to receive your mail and get rid of your spam.

You are posting via GG which means that you have a google account.
Gmail is an excellent system for filtering spam.

If you want to figure out if your viagra spam is /actually/ being
sourced from your brother's computer -- however, it isn't very likely
that a spam is being sourced from the From address which is normally
bogus on spam -- you would need to determine the true source, not
believe/accept the veracity of the From.

Getting help determining the source of a spam from parsing the email
headers is something better handled in spamcop newsgroups or perhaps the
alt.spam group.

It's some pill pusher from china that uses various domains for return mail.
You can tell because he always includes an attachment for opting out. Which
is from a china domain. Don't bother. That will only confirm your addy as
kosher.

It's nothing you have any control over other than to trash the ****.

He's obviously infected with some trojan. Have him a) scan *all* his files
on his computer with a malware scanner that has *just* been updated and
quaranteen *all* infected files. b) learn how *not* to infect his computer
which includes having a properly set up firewall program that he *knows*
how to use (the one that comes with MS windows is *not* a proper firewall
program - have him get either outpost or comodo or zone alarm)and the
above anti-malware suite for which the same applies.

Any of the above firewall programs can be found by simply putting their
name into any browser address bar and pressing enter.

He keeps getting emails from his brother and you claim it's
someone else using various domain names? WTF?

Taking advice from someone who's never worked in the computer field - worse
idea.

Regardless of what name you use richard, you're still an idiot.

Easily proven. Compare the headers. If they match line for line, it's from
his machine. If any one line does not match, it's from another source.

Hell, I've had people use my addy as their return address before.
That's just a method of avoiding getting screamed at by a ****ed off
recipient.

The headers quickly showed the mail did not come from my machine or even
domain.

You'd be wrong. His trucking advice isn't any better than
computer advice. Even when he was actually driving a truck
his advice in misc.transport.trucking was terrible.
