Just check Microsofts certification page for all details of the
certifications. SQL Server 2005 is not the current version, so maybe you
want to directly check for the 2008 exams?

MCTS is the general Microsoft Certified Technologie Specialist which is the
first certification level with SQL Server certifications. The MCITP is an
enhanced certification which has the MCTS certification as prerequesite.

The page about the sql server certifications:
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en...ql-server.aspx

So as far as I understood you, these exams are the ones you are interested
in:
MCTS:
Exam 70-431: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Implementation and Maintenance

MCITP: Database Administrator (MCTS: SQL Server 2005 required!):
Exam 70-443: PRO: Designing a Database Server Infrastructure by Using
Microsoft SQL Server 2005
and
Exam 70-444: PRO: Optimizing and Maintaining a Database Administration
Solution by Using Microsoft SQL Server 2005

The 2008 exams are (Which I would target today!):
MCTS: SQL Server 2008, Implementation and Maintenance:
Exam 70-432: TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Installation and Maintenance

MCITP: Database Administrator 2008 (required: MCTS: SQL Server 2008,
Implementation and Maintenance):
Exam 70-450: PRO: Designing, Optimizing and Maintaining a Database Server
Infrastructure using Microsoft SQL Server 2008

With kind regards,

Konrad

Hi Conrad,

Just want to verify. I am targeting the SQL Server 2005 certification path.
I had already book exam 70:431 TS: Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Implementation
and Maintenance exam. I wonder if there's prerequisite in this exam cause
according to my friend, before I take MCTP, i should at least have one MCP
certification. Is this true? It is not mentioned here ->
http://www.microsoft.com/learning/en...rver.aspx#tab2

Thanks!

Regards,
Clint
