Junk mail.

It was recently announced on the news that Royal Mail are going to abolish
the limit they imposed on un-addressed junk mail they delivered to each
household.

So as well as the greedy b*stards at RM ripping people off with outragous
charges for collecting revenues on overseas mail, they're now going to cash
in to the max on unsolicited un-addressed junk mail.

The obvious and only solution to this problem is to save up the junk mail
untill you have a carrier bag full, then cram it into the nearest red pillar
box.

How does unaddressed mail get delivered?

Pretty easily - the postman brings a big bag of the stuff and shoves a wad
through every letterbox..

If everyone screwed a cup-hook on the inside of their front door and hung a
carrier bag on it, they could sort all the junk mail every morning straight
into the carrier bag - every time its full, take it to the nearest red
pillar box and let RM's sorting office decide what to do with it all.

By the Royal Mail.

That's the problem.

I have been doing just that for a few years now, please catch-up everyone.

In the UK you can also register with the Mailing Preference Service, but
that has no effect on the un-addressed junk mail.

Apparently you can put a sign on the letterbox politely declining junk mail,
but for the time being I'm just as happy to punish RM.

Recently I ordered an electronic project kit from a company in Aus'. RM
ripped me off an £8 handling charge for collecting £3 VAT for the revenue.

I'm open to suggestions of any way I can damage RM's profits without fear of
legal consequences.

Or alternatively, you could just 'opt out' and you wont recieve another
thing. What your doing wont bother the RM at all, they've already been paid
for the junk your stuffing in a post box, you're just making more work for
postmen who will have to sort it out.

Opting out of the service is the only way to get back at the RM.

I feel sorry for the posties. They dont want to post it, and the public dont
want to recieve it, often taking their frustrations out on the poor
postman.

Not so - they tip the sack of envelopes onto a conveyor belt into an
automatic sorting machine.

It might be interesting to see what the sorting machine does with letters
addressed; "the householder".
