A few years ago, Stephanie Lenz put up a video on YouTube showing her little
child dancing, with Prince’s “Let’s Go Crazy” playing in the background.
Universal sent a DMCA takedown notice, but the EFF came to Lenz’s defence,
citing fair use.

Now, a judge has granted a partial summary judgement in favour of Lenz. In
particular, the judge rejected Universal’s argument that it was
“unreasonable” to expect the content owner to take fair use into account
before issuing a takedown. So Lenz gets to recover attorneys’ fees incurred
from her initial case against the takedown.
