Sigh! 32 bit OS with 8GB of RAM, memory available for apps, approx
2.7GB. 64 bit OS with 8GB of RAM, almost 8GB available for apps.
Regardless of whether or not they are 32 bit apps or 64 bit. (OK, some
architecture effects reduce that a bit).
