Adobe worse than Microsoft?

Just got a new camera which has RAW capabilities...
my old camera had crw (raw) format...but now the now one has cr2 (raw)

Though Canon does have a RAW editor that works...

I wanted to use Photoshop cs2

Adobe's cr2 plug-in will *not* work with cs2 and they want me to upgrade
to cs4

sheesh

even the *free* programs IRfanview or Gimp will let you install their
plug-in . In all of a minute or so, they updated just fine

and *free*
