Default AT&T dsl slowdown

I used to pretty consistently get from 2.3 to 2.6 MB/sec download speed from
AT&T in the SF Bay Area. The last 2 days in a row, no matter what time of
day or night, I'm getting only between 1.5 and 1.6. Has anyone else noticed
a similar slowdown with AT&T in my area?

It seems to be isolated to your area only.

1. Make sure there is a filter between the jack and phone on *every* phone.

1. Reset your modem. Static and noise builds up on phone lines. Even DSL
ones.

3. Unplug your phones for 1/2 hour. Strangely enough the modem
*doesn't* need to be unplugged for this.

4. Call AT&T tech support and get ready to clear your temporary
internet files and cookies for no good reason.

Uhhhhhhhhhh...d00d...you'd be better off asking in alt.fan.notb

"alt.fan.newsofthebay" is a newsgroup for bay area residents.

Nope.

Well, I'll be damned. When I read your advice I thought to myself:
"Bullshit, you only do that when you've lost the connection entirely.
That's not gonna work."

But then I said, what the hell give it a try. It worked! I'm back up to 2.5
MB/sec.
Thank you VERY much for your advice, Mr Doe.

P.S. I just checked and found that I have Grade B dsl plan that *promises*
"up to 3MB". They never promise a minimum.

Just curious, out here in CA (SF Bay Area) AT&T charges 35.00 for "Elite"
("up to 6MB"), and 30.00 for "Pro" ("up to 3MB"). What are they charging
you in Michigan?

Thanks again for your help.
