connecting XP SP3 laptop to existing Apple Extreme net with WPA

I am trying to connect my laptop (XP SP3) to an existing Apple Extreme
wireless network which has WPA/WPA2 security. XP offers only WEP type
security, although I read that SP3 made WPA/WPA2 available. What am I doing
wrong? TIA
