Hackintosh advice wanted

Does anyone have any experience with putting together a Hackintosh?

Or perhaps I should say, does anyone know if I am likely to encounter
any insurmountable problems Hacintosh-ifying my current hardware -- a
Q6700 with 4GB RAM, Invidia 8800 GTS and Gigabyte X38-DS4?

Yes, I saw that. But since I'm contemplating doing the Hackintosh thing
with quite a good computer, rather than some crappy underpowered
Atom-based netbook, I hardly see how it affects me.

Besides, restoring Hackintosh functionality to netbooks is probably only
a hacked kext away.

Constructive advice would be nice.

And the latest news -- http://www.9to5mac.com/atom-support-10-6-2 -- is
that the "control freaks" at Apple have put support for Atom CPUs back
into the latest build of the yet-to-be-released Snow Leopard update.
Your theory to explain that is... ?
