I snagged my son before he could get away, and asked him to go through the instruction sheet. Apparently, it's just a storage holder for the plug when the release isn't being used. Sounds like the standard Cannon cable release where the wire is wound around the handle and the plug pops in the side of the handle. A long time ago I had a Canon film EOS that used the same cable. One contact for auto focussing and the second for shutter. I used a simple transistor switches and drove the camera from a computer through the cable jack. w.. Walter Banks |
