I have a dual boot system with WinXP on HD1 and Vista on HD2 - HD1 is
partitioned in 2 - I would like my files to be available to either operating system and would like to know if this is ok - I plan on storing my files on the second partition of the first harddrive (HD1) and guys - I fixed my clock ! don |

You don't need to ask that Find out yourself, try it & Google it. http://www.google.com/search?q=sharing+xp+vista+files most results will be between 2 or more PCs. so you http://www.google.com/search?q=dual+...files+xp+vista Results 1 - 10 of about 168,000 for dual boot sharing files xp vista .. As long as both OS's sees the files that should not be a problem. richard |

Meaning, you can install Winzip on one Os, Then on the other OS install WinZip to the same dir as the first install - Not only will it work it saves space. I have always dual boot'd (not vista) and install large games, as long as the program doesn't store it's data in the X:\Documents and Settings\ area - but within it's own directory, not only will the program run installed to the same dir on both OS's, you will have the same updated data shared between both of them. FWIW: If the program stores it's data in the E:\Documents and Settings\ area, you can get around that by using the environment variables, to keep both programs updated with the same data. But that's advanced advice, if you had to ask about sharing, it will be awhile until you find this out. -- Find Waldo http://tinyurl.com/yj8ds74 Pennywise@DerryMaine.Gov |
