Driver Heaven review the ATI Radeon HD 5870 Graphics Card, one of the first DX11 cards we have seen:
Quote:
With the release of DirectX 11 for Windows 7 and Vista the hope is that the latest major update will prompt developers to move towards the new version. As a result there are numerous features included which make it possible for developers to create better games, whether it is on a visual level (for example hardware tessellation) or on a performance level (e.g. better multi-core support). Given that there are now nine games announced which will support DirectX 11 it certainly seems like Microsoft will be successful in moving developers on. This list of titles is actually longer than 10.1 which has so far had six titles spread over a year and a half.
In order to take full advantage of Microsoft’s latest DirectX we require hardware which supports features such as Shader Model 5 and today we bring you the launch of the world’s first publically available DX 11 hardware, the Radeon 5870.
