Asp.Net Custom Controls & Safari Compatibility

I have applied a custom control on an Asp.net 2.0 web page. The web page has a master page, and the custom control uses dropdownlists populated during the Page_Load event. On IE 7.0 everything works fine, but on Safari the dropdownlists do not work at all...nor the the asp:hyperlinks work. Please advise.
