802.1x PEAP Password Change Problem

Hi,

My scenario is that I am running an XP SP2 machine which is authenticated
with 802.1x running PEAP. The PC is set to use the Log on details to
authenticate and the PC re-authenticates periodically.

On Active Directory I changed the user password making the credentials
invalid so it should fail next re-authentication. However it just keeps
looping indefinitely trying to re-authenticate and does not explicitly fail
authentication.

Is this the expected behaviour? Should the PC ask for new credentials or
inform the user that it is failing authentication? Also should it explicitly
fail 802.1x instead of keep re-trying?

Thanks for your help,

Dan
