Canon iP4000 printer only prints test pages

I have a Canon PIXMA iP4000 printer that will only print test pages. It was working fine up until about a month ago. The ink tanks are new and it goes through the motions of printing a page but the page is blank. When I orint a diagnostic page from the printer menu it prints with no problems at all. I have uninstalled the drivers and then reinstalled them to no avail. Can someone please help??????
