Hi all,
I had this question in mind for a long time: Assume that you have a wireless network which comprises a number of base stations each connected to a the internet via different xDLS connections (or any other means) i.e APs belong to different networks and are not in the same IP broadcast domain) , now assume that AP1 somehow knows that AP2 is in the same RF (AP1 and AP2 can see each other). Since AP1 AND AP2 are not in the same networks, for a packet to be sent from AP1 to AP2 , traditionally, the packet has to go to through the xDSL connection of the source and the from the core network back to the AP2 , is there any way you can send the packet from AP1 to AP2 directly through the air interface (without going to the core network) ? Please advice me assuming that a) we know the MAC address of AP2 and second scenario B) if we don't know the MAC of AP2 .
Many thanks
