hi velocivites..

im kinda new to this but ill try and give a breakdown of my problem.
i have 2 x 12VDC fans (0.33A each) that i want to run from mains 240V power source.

Does anyone know how i can do this?

i have tried hardwiring them thru a transformer but having no luck.

i have heaps of transformers, and also an Adaptor that has an output of 15V (1.33A 20W Max)-will this run my 2 x 12VDC fans??

any ideas out there?
thanks heaps

I'd run the fans in series through the 15V DC power supply. Speed will be less than "full" but that will also mean that the fans will be quiet.

If in parallel, 15V may burn up the fans.

The current your fans draw should not exceed the max current of the adaptor. Else it will burn.

The adaptor is nothing but a transformer and rectifier. By the way in series the fans are 12+12 = 24 V, which is too much load for the adaptor. On the other hand in parallel they are less than 12. Better to keep them in parallel like Mark suggests, rather than run them in series and find out the hard way!
