Default D-Link DI-514

Newbe to wireless...
I have a notepad running Win xP home edition fully upgraded.
the wireless network card connects to and reads the router, but no
router connection to the inrernet.
Configuration is: DSL modem into a linksys 4-port router (this feeds
3 hardwired computers on my home network which all run and connect
perfectly and the 4th hardwire connects to my DI-514 wireless for the
notepad.
* If the DI-514 is connected directly into the DSL modem there is a
good wireless internet connection.
The reason went back to hardwiring the other 3 computers through the
Linksys router is that the wireless drops my connection too often,
doing it this way if it drops, it only affects my notepad.
What am I missing here?
