It's official (well at least semi-official). SQL Server 2008 has been
delayed until at least Q3 2008. You can find more details here: http://mcitpsuccess.blogspot.com/ If you were waiting for SQL Server 2008 to come out before pursuing your MCITP in SQL Server, you might want to rethink that approach. At this point, I expect the MCTIP certifications on SQL Server 2008 won't be available until 2009. The good news is that the differences between SQL Server 2005 and SQL Server 2008 are minimal for what most database administrators and database developers will use. Some high-end changes will appear, but most of us won't be using these high-end capabilities. In other words, learn SQL Server 2005 and you'll learn just about everything you'll use on the job when SQL Server 2008 comes out.
