the Atari line, particularly the ST days from '85-'90.

It covers 'lesser' OSes, so the ST exclusion is a gap in the coverage.

Here's a little gui timeline pic from arstechnica showing the ST fitting
in between/after the first Mac, before the Amiga and Windows 1, some 5
years before Win 3 and 2 years after Lisa.

Ummmm, ya mike. You wanna talk gaps in coverage? Your link has no mention of
Windows 3.1, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 2000, nor any flavor of Win NT.
Then of course, there's the most obvious gap of all ... the one between your
ears.
