Hello everyone,
Can anyone tell me what happened to ALT.COFFEE? It suddenly disappeared from
Motzarella, our ISP. I would appreciate any information to get it back.
Thanks,
Ed Theron

Why don't you ask Motzarella? What do you expect anyone here in this
newsgroup can do about it? It's a NNTP/ISP issue that you'll have to ask
your provider about.

Duh.

alt.coffee is still there. The last post was made by "Steve" (and yes, I
just subscribed to test for you):

Your ISP? Motzarella isn't your ISP ...

Now this is what I seen: <g>

There are a number of them. My favorite is chriscoffee.com

Fair deals, good service, what more could you want?

If you go to his site, take a look at the Izzo Alex models. Both the
E61 HX that I have and the 2-boiler one that they started selling are
decent choices in middle-high end.

He also has other more expensive machines.

You mean they're your news provider, don't you?

It's still there.

It is fine.

You mean motz newsserver, not ISP. It didn't disappear. You can reset
the list so that your newsreader and the newsserver are in sync about
groups.

OK. In OE in the folder view^1 select the motz newsserver account in the
left (folder) pane and then the Newsgroups button in the R pane. That
presents a window title bar Newsgroup Subscriptions with the motz account
shaded in the accounts pane. On the R is a 'Reset List' button; click
that.

That will slowly provide you with about 36000 groups and it may cause your
OE to stop responding. If that happens you will have to kill the process,
but you will have the new list.

^1 folder view is enabled in OE/ View menu/ Layout item - check Folder
List

If you have selected alt.coffee and you are able to see headers but you
cannot access the message bodies, that is a different problem and that
requires a different kind of reset.

Your newsreader will not access the group alt.coffee by input caps
ALT.COFFEE in the newsgroup subscriptions selector.
