I put a new toner in my Brothers laser 1435 printer and now I get some
marking down the left side. I ran about a hundred pages out but the little
marks about a half inch long are still there. Anyone know how to fix this?

Buy a new printer.

Do they appear with the old toner too now?
Did you touch the drum with dirty fingers?

and just how is re-installing his printer going to clear dirty marks on the
output?
You can re-install a zillion times if you've a mind to, it'll STILL give
dirty marks on the output.

If the output was mark-free before changing the toner, then I'd suggest
removing the toner, and having a good clean inside the printer, taking
extreme care not todamage anything inside, particularly, the drum or imaging
unit. Also check the fuser rollers for marks, if possible, and caution,
they get very hot.

There are two types of laser printers--write-black and write-white.
Every place the laser shines on the drum becomes either a black or a
white spot, depending on the technology. In a write-white printer, a
piece of lint can block the laser, preventing it from making that spot
on the drum turn white. The usual symptom is a stripe all the way down
the page, but not always. If the smudge is identical on every print,
it's probably lint in the path.

Check the parts of your printer in the laser-to-drum path for debris.
Be careful not to touch the drum, and don't expose it to sunlight.
