File\Open Question

Hello,

Probably something in my PC, but thought I'd ask anyway to see if anyone
else has ever experienced this with any program.

Have a sw radio control program trying to get fully running.

It runs fine, tunes the radio from the PC screen like it is supposed to, but
when I go to FILE\OPEN to open and pull up an existing database, it drops
the program completely as soon as I click on OPEN...
Never gets to the point of asking what to Open. Immediately terminates the
program.

Years ago, same program; no revs since, it worked perfectly.
So, something in my system is apparently interpreting the Open command to
force an Exit of the program

Any thoughts on ?

Thanks,
B.

Does File, Open work from other applications?

What is this mystery program?

Hi,

Yes, File\Open works perfectly on everything else.

Program is called tk545.
Used to control an JRC NRD 545 sw receiver from the PC.

There's been no change in the program, ever, so it is probasbly something
"corrupted" in the PC,
somewhere I would think ? Can't imagine what, though.

Have tried a new download of the program, and a re-install, but still the
same.

Regards,
Bob

Did you also install the prerequisite Tcl/Tk interpreter software? Follow
the install instructions exactly as listed on
http://www.parnass.org/tk545/dl4win98.html for both? Especially Note #3 at
the bottom of that page. If you turn on the logging feature, does the
resulting log file offer any suggestions?

What version of Windows? Do you have adequate Permissions on the system?
Admin-level login?

Just some thoughts and ideas. Never used this, although it does look
interesting.
