I was two days late discovering all the little "Extra Proprietary" stuff on this computer and am now stuck with it. I want to do two things with it.
1. Upgrade the HDD's. Sony keeps telling me "That laptop is destined for the 2x200gb HDD and will not work with anything else. I know that to be Sony locking down the BIOS, I never heard of a computer you could not put different HDD's in. So, where can I find a non-sony bios for the board. I am sure they have locked out other features of the board as well. Does anyone know what MB they are using? I know Sony does not make their own.
2. Get rid of Vista. I consider Vista the worst product MicroShaft has ever put out, well, almost, ME sucked as well. I have read several articles on doing this but if anyone here has ideas I would like to hear them.
Or does anyone want to but a new/very slightly used top of the line laptop, still in warranty???
