What is USB Root Hub

Posts: n/a
My XP box doesn't have any USB hub attached. It does have
as many as 4 USB devices attached. Device Manger lists five
USB Root Hub. Why does it do that?

The root hub isn't a "hub" in the external sense. Every USB controller has
to have a hub associated with it. It is how Windows (or any OS)
communicates with the physical USB device.
