The link above has the critical updates from SP1 to Feb 2004, which will take you out of the danger zone before hitting the windowsupdate.microsoft.com site. The difference is, that if you download it, burn it on CD and apply it to
the WXP before you connect it to the Internet you will be able to connect to windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get the latest patches without being infected. Of course getting the updates from MS would also be an option, if you fancy
downloading 49 files and clicking on each for installation. At the site I have mentioned they are already compiled, only one file is needed for downloading, with one click all the 49 updates will install themselves. I didn't describe the whole procedure, thinking it might be self explaining, why else would I send the link. - Edi (Austria) "ImhoTech" <> schrieb im Newsbeitrag news:... > > "juhu" <> wrote in message news:40e3da76$... > > > > The difference is, that if you download it, burn it on CD and apply it to > > the WXP before you connect it to the Internet you will be able to connect > to > > windowsupdate.microsoft.com and get the latest patches without being > > infected. > > > That would be a difference, but of course was not mentioned at all in your > post.
