Why can't I reinstall my digital camera?

Up until a week ago, I have never had any difficulty transferring my
digital shots to my computer. Then I decided that I would use my
digital camera as a PC camera, which required that I also install a
web cam driver. That worked fine. But when I tried downloading
pictures again, no camera connection was evident. So I tried
installing the camera driver. No luck, with a message saying that the
driver thought the operating system was NP rather than XP and
therefore would not install.

Would this have resulted because I didn't fully complete the latest XP
Service Pack (4) upgrade?

OOops. Make that Service Pack 3. Also make that OS "NT" rather than
NP. And the camera is the Traveler DC-6900.
I've been to their web page and downloaded the installation driver
which wouldn't install because it thinks I'm using NT.

Digger

Try uninstalling 'all' the software for your camera.
(Start, Control Panel, Add Remove programs)
Reboot the PC
Then reinstall the software.

If that doesn't work try finishing off the SP3 install and try again.
