Hyperthreading - worth it???

Hi
Is it worth spending the extra $ on an Intel HT CPU and a motherboard to
suit?? In real life terms for me - internet browsing, word, excel, digital
camera etc - no games, no DVD player is it worth worrying about?? What does
HT do??

I am in the process of replacing my faithful Celeron 700 which does all the
above OK. The 800Mhz FSB P4 2.8HT is only about $25 dearer than the 533mhz
FSB P4 2.8. The motherboard differential is about $40.00. Is the FSB speed
difference really noticeable - I am not a power user by any means.

For my usage would I benefit???

nope
although don't 'not' get it, i wouldn't spend anything extra for it, it's
only of use if you run programs made for it really
most stuff isn't
