I have Win98SE on my own machine and only have the Msdos.sys file in the
However, I'm working on another machine that has both of these files in the
root, and one of them seems superfluous.
It makes setting/editing options a little confusing.
It seems that Win ignores the
Msdos.sys when the Winboot.ini file is present?
Is it safe to delete the Winboot.ini - will Msdos.sys automatically be
referenced ? Or am I going to end up with a non- booting machine ? I thought
the Winboot.ini is usually erased after Windows' initial installlation ?
If I do an edit in msdos.sys like the option logo=0 then it works ok but if
i do it in winboot.ini it reverts back and displays the logo ??
