Any good advice on opening a laptop up?

Does anyone have any idea or maybe sites you can steer me to on how to
open up a compaq 1266 presario laptop that is booting up with a 0270
error on the real time clock? As far a I can surmise, its a changeout
of the coin type battery that I need to perform, but I have never
opened up a laptop to gain access to the motherboard. Any input or
advice is greatly appreciated and thanks in advance!
